REQUIREMENT:
Damp-proofing for brick mortar (black colour)PRODUCT TO USE:
Cementaid CALBLACKHOW TO SPECIFY:
“All mortar (specify damp-proof course) shall be integrally waterproofed by the addition of Cementaid Calblack Dampcourse Admixture”.
The mix shall consist of 1 part fresh Portland Cement to 2 parts sand mixed with water and containing Cementaid Calblack at the rate of one (1) litre per 40Kg bag of cement. DO NOT USE LIME.
“The dampcourse must finish with a minimum of 12mm thickness, throughout, or alternatively lay the Calblack mortar for two (2) consecutive horizontal courses with perpendiculars between. Trim and rod joints to a smooth, dense finish”.
EFFECTS:
Produces a dense, black mortar, permanently proofed against rising damp, protection which outlasts the life of normal brickwork.
WHERE RECOMMENDED:
All masonry construction at ground level.

CALBLACK Dampcourse is not a mortar colourant, and will fade with UV exposure over time.To minimise UV exposure, coloured mortars should be struck back from the brick surface and/or rodded hard to bring cement to the surface.
