DESCRIPTION:
Chloride-free accelerating admixture for concrete, with plasticising action. Accelerates the setting and hardening of concrete.
RAPIDARD CF is a green coloured liquid supplied ready for use, which should be added to the gauging water.

High early strength is invaluable in shaft sinking where speed is essential. Invaluable for emergency repairs.
For winter/cold weather:Accelerates the rate of setting, strength gain and heat evolution to give normal working at low temperatures. Reduces susceptibility to frost damage for fresh concrete.
Reinforcement:Excellent corrosion-inhibition – Long-term protection of ferrous reinforcement against chloride corrosion.
Plasticising action: Enables a reduction to be made in the water/cement ratio of between 5 and 8%.APPLICATION:
RAPIDARD CF ACCELERATOR is supplied ready for use and should be added to the gauging water to ensure thorough mixing. It should not be added neat to the dry mix, unless vigorous mixing is ensured.Addition typically at 3 to 6% of the cement content, dependent on the required acceleration ratio.
In precast concrete production it is essential that the hardening rate is maintained by conserving the heat
evolved within the concrete. Fresh concrete must be protected immediately after placing with waterproof covers such as polythene sheeting.
Note: RAPIDARD CF has been used for many years in shaft lining concrete to allow early shutter stripping when using flowing concrete. Caution must be exercised with the mix design of free flowing concrete mixes, which are required to free fall without segregation. These are highly site specific. Contact Cementaid Technical Service.

STORAGE:
RAPIDARD CF ACCELERATOR should be stored in sealed containers in frost free conditions out of direct sunlight. Shelf life in sealed containers is 12 months maximum.
