BONDING AGENT
FOR CONCRETE, RENDERS
& PLASTERING

REQUIREMENT:

Bonding to brick, concrete or masonry, without roughening or hacking. Bonding agent for interior renders and toppings, as well as for bonding concrete at concrete construction joints, etc.

PRODUCT TO USE:

CALBOND

HOW TO SPECIFY:

All surfaces (state areas) shall be prepared for plastering/rendering by application of a liberal coat of CALBOND which shall be allowed to dry to a “tacky” condition (10 – 20 minutes) before applying render or plaster. Consult manufacturer for details of surface cleaning, etc.

EFFECTS:

CALBOND forms a plastic “key” into the surface pores of the base masonry, which when not fully dry will partially re-dissolve in the damp render or plaster. When set and dried, the whole sets into a hard, tough unit strongly assisting firm adhesion of the surface render. Fully compatible with all CEMENTAID products.

WHERE RECOMMENDED:

All rendering onto non-roughened surfaces, including integrally waterproofed concrete.
Repair of cracks and faults in masonry.
As admixture in mortar or concrete mix, where elasticity and toughness are required
NOTE: For service under wet areas or wetting drying conditions, Cementaid WELDCRETE is recommended to be used instead.

FOR NEW FLOOR TOPPINGS
A slurry of CALBOND and cement mixed in the proportions of 2 parts CALBOND, 2 parts cement and 1 part water, when applied liberally on a clean surface will assist adhesion of applied toppings.
All toppings must be well cured.
