CONCRETE-CURING
MEMBRANE

REQUIREMENT:

Concrete curing to obtain full effective properties of concrete without external covering or application of water. Specially formulated not to interfere with BOND of subsequent toppings, render, lino tiles, etc.

PRODUCT TO USE: CALCURE Type B

HOW TO SPECIFY:

All concrete (state areas) shall be cured by a liberal application of Cementaid Calcure Type B Sprayed on to surfaces at the rate of 1 litre per 5-7 square metres. The sprayed membrane shall be applied immediately following initial set.

EFFECTS:

Calcure B is an easy to use, water-based curing compound, which seals the surface of concrete with a clear, colourless membrane to retain curing moisture, without affecting subsequent bond of cementitious toppings or render. This practical advantage however is achieved with some loss of curing efficiency, (e.g. Calcure B does not comply with AS 3799 or ASTM C309). Note: For very high efficiency curing (e.g. >90%; AS 3799) see Data Sheet for Cementaid CALCURE CR or CALCURE C30

WHERE RECOMMENDED:

Where concrete surfaces are to be used as working platforms during curing; Where subsequent toppings or renders are to be applied, or where easy removal for subsequent surface treatments is desired; Vertical surfaces where traditional curing is impractical, or locations where labour costs of standard curing are high (country roads, culverts, etc).

CAUTION:

Do not specify Calcure B or other membrane type curing agents where surface hardeners or sealers such as Cementaid DIAMITE or ROKITE are specified to be used – Refer to our technical staff. In such cases specify water, damp sand or building paper curing.

Detailed information on special uses, and recommendations are available from Cementaid Technical Offices.

For application Rega Pneumatic knapsack spray is recommended with No. 9, 10 or 11 fantail nozzles.
