CONCRETE CURING
MEMBRANE

REQUIREMENT:

High efficiency concrete curing by a single spray application, without covering or continuous water spray/ponding. CALCURE C30 Complies with AS 3799 and RTA 3202

PRODUCT TO USE:

Cementaid CALCURE C30

HOW TO SPECIFY:

“All concrete shall be cured by a liberal application of Cementaid CALCURE C30 sprayed onto the surface as soon as possible after finishing or removal of forms, at a rate of 5 square metres per litre.”

EFFECTS:

CALCURE C30 is an economical, sprayable, wax based curing compound, which seals the surface of fresh concrete, reducing moisture loss and providing high efficiency curing.

High-quality curing such as CALCURE C30 reduces drying shrinkage and porosity / permeability of concrete, as well as providing increased tensile and compressive strengths, superior resistance to cracking and significantly improved long-term durability.

WHERE RECOMMENDED:

All concrete surfaces which require high efficiency curing and areas to which standard curing methods would be difficult or uneconomical.

CALCURE C30 may also be used as a de-bonding agent. When used for this purpose, a minimum of two coats should be used, applied at right-angles to each other to avoid any pinholes. A trial area is always recommended to be done to confirm satisfactory performance.

NOTE:

If cementitious or other materials are to be bonded to surfaces to which CALCURE C30 has been applied, prior removal of the CALCURE C30 by sandblasting or solvent treatment is recommended before bonding is attempted.

CAUTION:

CALCURE C30 is best stored out of direct sunlight, and has a shelf life of 3 months maximum.
Do not specify CALCURE C30 or any other curing compounds where liquid surface hardeners such as Cementaid DIAMITE are specified to be used, as penetration of these treatments would be impaired. In such cases, specify water-curing, damp sand or building plastic.

FOR APPLICATION SERVICE:

For application, “Rega” or equivalent pneumatic knapsack spray is recommended, with a No. 9, 10 or 11 fantail nozzle. Equipment should be cleaned by flushing thoroughly with water.
