Harbour Area Treatment Scheme (HATS) Stage 2A- Sewage Tunnel

In 2010, Cementaid have signed a supply of Caltite admixture contract with Gammon Construction for the project ~ Harbour Area Treatment Scheme (HATS) Stage 2A – Sewage Tunnel. Another phases of HATS project for the construction of 20kms of deep sewage tunnels at the depth of 100 metres below sea level run across North Point, Wanchai, Central to Stonecutter Island. This is the 2nd stage of the major sewage infrastructure project in Hong Kong covering the remaining area of Hong Kong Island to improve the water quality of Victoria Harbour. Cementaid Caltite (@10 litres per m3) would be used for this 100m deep sewage tunnel for about 20kms and this sewage tunnel would then connect to the Main Pumping Station in Stonecutter Island that also used Caltite concrete for subsequent treatments work before discharging to the sea.
