As the first affordable development in Docklands, The Merchant paved the way for The Mariner, launched late 2011. The Merchant offers quality affordable housing for Melbourne’s low income, moderate income and key workers, assisting these people to live closer to their employment. This means less time commuting to and from work, ensuring they can stay in the jobs that are essential to the running of our city. Project Partners:Department of Human Services, Victoria Property Fund, Lendlease, VicUrban. Project Value:$18.75m The project took major advantage of the membrane-free Caltite concrete to avoid delays on critical path construction of the lift overrun pits. Dry, and maintenance-free for design life.
