“Cementaid Everdure Caltite System was specified and used for the Coliseum’s huge Multi-Purpose Floor: Salt-water freezing pipes are embedded within the structural slab; the slab can be flooded, and then the pipes are used to freeze the Caltite concrete slab, which in turn freezes the water layer on top – thus converting the floor to an ice skating rink. This has been done repeatedly, and the floor has performed as designed. The Cementaid Everdure Caltite System provides structural waterproofing and corrosion-proofing, as well as protection against freeze-thaw cracking and deterioration. No maintenance procedures for the slab have ever been required since project handover.”
