The Developer’s High Expectation and Concerns UOA Group (UOA) being one of the leading property groups in Malaysia has focused on property development, construction, property investment, and property management. UOA has experienced their fair share of problems in the use of crystallization and membrane systems with various waterproofing companies which includes unrepairable water leakages, cost overruns in repairs, disruption of their schedule arising from poor workmanship of membrane waterproofing and many others, over the years. The Solution Bangsar South (Phase 1) marks the start of the Bangsar South township development and with the high expectations and concerns mentioned above, UOA has made a wise decision in selecting Cementaid as a waterproofing partner in the use of 3CC System to improve design life, maintenance-free, membrane free waterproofing for the reinforced structural concrete roofs, and also watertanks, the suspended driveway, restaurant and retail podium, water features and other areas as well as Aquapel System to carpark retaining wall, where using old, conventional membranes would have added to construction costs and time. With Cementaid’s proven HPI integral waterproofing system to concrete used, the project was completed well ahead of schedule and all repaired structural elements are performing well. For example, Bangsar South “The Horizon” Boutique Office (Picture 1) which comprised of reinforced concrete roof slabs and a driveway waterproofed was waterproofed with Cementaid’s 3CC System. Bangsar South “The Sphere” (Picture 2) which includes water features, retail outlets, restaurants and cafes which are situated above a hypermarket and retail outlets was waterproofed with Cementaid’s 3CC System. Bangsar South “The Park Residences” (Picture 3) carpark retaining wall was waterproofed with Cementaid’s Aquapel System.
